Infiniti Pools Group were contracted for the design and construction of a resort style aquatic facility at the Wheatstone Mine Village located in Onslow on the North West Coast.
Currently FIFO operators are placing a high value on employee satisfaction with the facilities that are provided at mine camps and worker villages. Resort style pool spaces like the new Wheatstone facility helps to provide a more relaxed feel for the workers which assists in attracting and retain staff.
- All design documents, planning, permits and Department of Health approval
- The design brief of the pool area was to feel like more of a resort to that of a normal camp pool, incorporating a high-end finish
- The Pool area includes 1 large 25m x 8m lap pool for competent swimmers, along
with a smaller pool with an offset ledge for people to relax and socialise
- Pool area is within the parameters of that which does not legally require an on-duty lifeguard
- Disabled access was included on both pools
- The pool area utilised the current lighting towers that were in place to light the pool area for 24 hour use
- Pool design includes full pool fencing surround
- Pool design includes decorative paving slabs within the pool fencing area along with a cabana style
shade area with a small grass area underneath (grass will be protected by the shade)
- The requirement from the client was that the pool structure to be “built to last” therefore no vinyl liners advised. Current liner pool has already failed after 8 years.
- Pool area includes a pool heating system that capable of heating and cooling
- Pool includes internal lighting that can be turned on and off
